Our campsite was nice, but pretty quiet, Raron itself was a small ish town with a few shops, but a lot of character with mountains either side of us. We only stayed for one night, but before we left we went into town to buy coats, gloves and warm clothes. The temperature change from the top to the bottom of the mountain was so drastic, and having come from 22 degrees and sunny in Italy, we certainly weren’t prepared for 5 degrees and raining in Switzerland. Switzerland even had its own smell, fresh cold air and log fires, we found it similar to our experience in Romania. Next day we headed off to Interlake, which had actually been recommended to us by a man we met in Normandy, if it was anything like Raron we couldn’t wait.
